Description
Taking some sun. Hi res photo of a portion of the magnificent Court of Neptune fountain in front of the Library of Congress. The piece was completed in 1898 by sculptor Roland Hinton Perry. The figure is striking, powerful and free. I liked the way the low winter afternoon light was striking this empty fountain. The figure is usually obscured by the streams of water when the fountain is running and she seemed to be enjoying the opportunity to bask in the sun.
